Electrical Projects
Project Overview
Our team are experts at installing and maintaining production cells. For a client in Georgia, JDI’s Electrical Services Team was tasked to rework and install a new paint cell for their plant operation’s existing line. The project team had little time to quote and plan but were able to pull together the project and field team quickly and decide on a plan. The robotic arm had to be connected to existing power, which required moving the power supply so that the new ABB control panel had better placement. To set the robot up for connection we installed 1200 FT of control wire, additional grounding, and a new cable tray.
The 2-ton robotic arm required us to design our own rigging system to support the movement of the arm into its operation space. When placing it, we had to precisely align the robot into place, then make sure the new light curtain and fencing were in their proper positions to keep operators and maintenance safe.
Results
We supported ABB in field terminations, startup, and troubleshooting to complete the project in a timely manner. The production cell team had a three-day window to complete everything and completed it in 2 days.
Project Overview
For this automotive client, the JDI Electrical team had to reconfigure existing 480V bus bar for installation of a mezzanine structure. The team was also tasked with rerouting 27 power supplies for existing production equipment; installation of 67 new light circuits and fixtures; ten fans for air movement in production area, and the installation of three power circuits for new IDF cabinets.
Because of how well this project went, we currently serve this client’s electrical needs on a regular basis at their Greenville and Anderson County production facilities. That’s the JDI difference in delivering expectations with our electrical services.

Project Overview
JDI’s Electrical Services began with our paper mill client by doing some T&M work, which led to a stream of capital projects. One of those capital projects we were recently tasked with connecting was a new packaging line so the client could multiply their ability to produce a finished paper product.
The client wanted to see how our turn-key electrical services performed, and after our mechanical team set their equipment, we were able to begin installing the new control panel equipped with a 65KIC 70 AMP Braker. We simultaneously terminated the cables and control panels, then installed and routed vendor-supplied cables and wire baskets to connect the pack line equipment. Afterwards, JDI completed the project by providing start-up support for the vendor.
