Our team are experts at installing and maintaining industrial paint booth production cells. For a client in Georgia, JDI’s Electrical Services Team plans a rework and install of a new paint cell for their operations.
The project team has little time to quote and plan but are able to pull together the project and field team quickly. Working with a technician from ABB, JDI makes the project happen quickly with a solid plan of action.
The robotic arm has to connect to existing power, which requires moving the power supply so that the new ABB control panel has better placement.
The 2-ton robotic arm requires JDI to innovate our rigging system to support the movement of the arm into its industrial paint booth space. When placing it, we precisely align the robot into place, then make sure the spacing within the new light curtain is correct.
Following placement, we then setup the light curtain and safety fencing in their proper positions to keep operators and maintenance safe.
The next day, JDI’s electricians install the MCC cabinet as well as the computer systems, conduit, cable trays, and wiring for the robot. We install 1200 FT of control wire as well as additional grounding.
