Project Overview: Food Production Electrical Upgrades

JDI Industrial Services provides electrical installation and improvement services for a local food production client in Pickens County, SC. We have worked with this client several times to solve a range of installation challenges.

For this project, we are supporting the plant’s latest expansion with electrical upgrades, installing two new production lines and two pieces of critical equipment.

First, our electrical team scouts the area to figure out where to install cable trays. Our team determines the best location above the walk-in freezer for the food production line electrical upgrades to begin.

Our electrical team then installs 36-inch and 24-inch main cable trays, along with 12-inch branch trays, to distribute power to the new production lines, equipment, and accessories.

Below, we dive into a deeper breakdown of the services we provide for our food production client:

Project Overview: Electrical Installation and Improvements

Two New Production Lines

JDI provides electrical infrastructure for two new production lines.

  • Install a 36-inch cable tray trunk line above the new freezer to support low-voltage feeds.
  • Install a 24-inch cable tray from the trunk line to support equipment along the production lines.
  • Install 12-inch branch trays to connect additional equipment and accessories.
  • Complete all terminations and connect each piece of equipment to its designated panel.
  • Test all electrical connections and verify voltage to ensure each production line receives consistent and reliable power.

Two New Pieces of Equipment and Accessories

JDI installs electrical infrastructure for two new pieces of production equipment and associated accessories.

  • Install a new 40A, 480V circuit from an existing breaker to the equipment panel.
  • Install two new breakers dedicated to the equipment and accessories.
  • Route two 3C/#12 cables through the trays to supply power to the equipment panels.
  • Complete all terminations between panels, equipment, and accessory components to ensure proper connectivity.
  • Test all electrical connections and verify voltage to ensure each piece of equipment receives consistent and reliable power.

Results

This project highlights JDI’s dedication to providing electrical services that prioritize safety, efficiency, and long-term performance.

To conclude, the food production line electrical upgrades will aid our client’s future growth and reduce downtime, thereby supporting their Pickens County business expansion.

JDI ensures clients receive reliable electrical systems that meet current requirements while allowing future scalability by forecasting potential problems and implementing effective solutions.
