Glen Raven, a global manufacturer of yarn and textile products such as the Sunbrella brand, is one of JDI’s top supplemental maintenance clients in the industry.
We began working within their operations facility in Upstate, SC with 2-3 people who did facilities maintenance for the buildings and also perform capital service projects.
In 2020, JDI constructs a warehouse expansion that fulfills their logistics and operational service gap needs.
Our maintenance project team’s task from the beginning is to provide a sole focus of taking care of the Glen Raven Anderson, SC facility’s yarn product lines, keeping their productions efficient and deliverable.
The mechanical and millwright team install multiple lines within the plant’s at Anderson, SC, Burlington, NC, and Norlina, NC to help Glen Raven continue to meet the demands of their textile customers.

The 2020 warehouse expansion features pre-engineered red iron, with a brick façade that houses goods. This PEMB project is within our wheelhouse as we perform design-build projects for manufacturers, and bring a full array of tradesmen who build the racking, do piping installations, and perform electrical service work for the new building.
JDI Industrial Services also provides a full-time maintenance project team to Glen Raven’s Anderson, SC facility. This team consists of 20 production maintenance technicians on staff, including four electricians and one facilities service crew member.
Their work consists of 10 lines of production, and involved changing colors of the yarn, preventative and service-call based maintenance, mechanical structure maintenance, pneumatics, and facilities electrical work.
Our work didn’t just end in Upstate, SC, however, and we were tasked with machine relocations and installations in Norlina and Burlington, NC. In Burlington, we spent eight weeks installing eight twister machines from Italy, as well as maintenance support to help tie in the new machinery.
