Pre-Fabrication Initial Assembly
Overhead Conveyor Installation
Overhead Conveyor Project Overview
JDI was chosen as the industrial contractor for this overhead conveyor project because we have the necessary capabilities and quality expectations in Hall County, GA. The client, North Mississippi Conveyor, looks for a group capable of delivering the manpower, skills, and scope necessary for this heavy equipment manufacturer.
Working with the NMC on a time and materials-basis to install their overhead power & free conveyor system, we are providing skillful supplemental manpower and equipment. The project requires JDI to be on-site, welding, and installing the conveyors for over 365 days.

Overhead Conveyor Project Overview
Our field installation team features millwrights and welders, and experienced supervisors who can understand the complex system of conveyor lines. To meet safety guidelines and keep the crew effective, we essentially provide a safety manager to the site.
The project takes place in a factory that needs over three-miles of chain-driven overhead conveyor installations through coating, welding, and assembly areas.
The majority of what our team installs is tens of thousands of bolts and welding connections, as well as the mechanical elements for each area. Each conveyor section requires 26 bolts over 1000’s of sections that our machine installation crew steadily places. Each connection is stick-welded into place.
The installation team has to work over phases which allow us to connect one section area, as per the customer’s plan. Once the customer has a paint booth ready, we connect the overhead conveyors into those areas, and then move into the next section as necessary.
JDI conversely adds integral suspended mezzanines, and overhead service platforms in the last phase of the job. This allows the plant operations and maintenance personnel access points to the modules and controls we install for the overhead conveyors.
