BorgWarner Seneca Industrial Projects

Maintenance

Industrial Construction

Project Overview

Our work with this client began with a handrail installation, which led to additions, renovations, and a full rebuild of the plant after a tornado struck in 2020.

During the rebuild, JDI assists in the clean-up process of the debris and production lines that the company lost to the incident.

After clean-up, we are able to get the client back in production in under a month after the devastation they experience. We work closely with them through the rebuild process.

JDI continues to have ongoing maintenance project support with the client, assists with capital project needs, and has provided approximately 50,000 manhours to date.

Industrial Construction Project Highlights

  • JDI constructs two building additions, a high-bay addition, and assembly additions. Additionally we complete multiple renovation projects, from machining, canteen, HR offices, conference room renovations, and multiple restrooms.
  • BorgWarner Seneca contracts JDI to place over 450+ yards of concrete. During the concrete placement, we redirect traffic, cut portions of the old concrete and asphalt, and replace everything with 12-inch-thick concrete for the new roadway.
  • Borgwarner also contracts us to install wainscotting around the entire plant’s perimeter and manufacturing walls, totaling 4,000 Linear Feet of material over 32,000 SF.
  • A Newly Built PEMB Structure for 2025. This pre-engineered metal building is built to expand upon their maintenance, repair, and operations departments’ growing needs.

Mechanical & Millwright Project Highlights

Our mechanical contracting services at the facility are a vital part of our relationship with BorgWarner.

To best serve their team, we have performance results for the following projects:

  • JDI’s maintenance assists in installing machine foundations, machines, and entire assembly line installations.
  • We install backup generators, multiple designated storm shelters, as well as a demolition waste-water pit that requires core drilling, rerouting pipes, and tying back into the wastewater system. In addition, this involves taking the above-ground system and placing it completely underground.
  • Finally, JDI erects BorgWarner Seneca’s warehouse racking, relocates existing racking to another facility, and shortens racking from 30ft to 20ft to fit into new spaces so that the client can fit new production lines into their plant.
