Facility Lighting Package Overview
JDI began this project in tandem with the subdeck project, as the roof being off made installing new lights. We worked in a difficult environment that involves steam, heat, and condensate. Due to this environment, and the simultaneous roofing project, this lighting upgrade package took certain coordination.
Total replacement for this older lighting system requires JDI’s electricians to dismantle 58 high-bay LEDs, and replace with 66 new high-efficiency LEDs with brighter lumens. This also requires replacement of the rigid galvanized conduit with new aluminum conduit, because the environment is harsh.
The maintenance team’s results from JDI bettered their safety score because they are now able to see their operations more clearly. To read more about the project details, continue reading below.
Facility Lighting Package Details
This project starts during a shutdown, and then continues into production. The electrical team works on a tight schedule due to all of the ongoing projects that happening parallel to our own.
The facility lighting installation begins with taking down the first four rows of lights, during the threader project we also perform installation on. Thereafter, our lighting project team then remove and install rows of lights as they coordinate with the roofing team.
Our electricians continue the installation running new circuits, conduits, and hangers. Following this, 22 rows, with one row of three lights per bay, are installed at the clients facility. Additionally, we also add lighting into their electrical room, which ties to the circuits JDI installs.
The facility lighting upgrade is successful and gives the client more visibility.
