JDI Industrial’s initial job for this client was to provide a technician to support plant operations and maintenance. We upgraded the service to two full-time contractors to be an integral part of the client’s success, to keep the client from experiencing downtime, and to help them stay efficient at producing heavy equipment materials.
Recently we were required to perform a machine move and reinstallation that involved moving 18 tons of machinery, and a lot of determined know-how. Our JDI rigging and mechanical crew came together to meet a client’s need for space and moving their bending machine back into service. To do this, the crew used a combination of skates and an air-lift system.
First, we had to cut and unbolt the press from the concrete pad, then we used jacks to lift and ready it to be able to place the air plates and skates underneath it. The team was able to successfully transition it from one end of the client’s plant to another to get them back to productivity.
