Aerofoam partners with JDI in Abbeville, SC
Hira Industries, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, opens its newest Aerofoam USA facility in Abbeville, SC! The Aerofoam ribbon cutting took place around 11 AM on July 29th with attendants from all over the Carolinas.
JDI Industrial Services, chosen from a competitive selection, is the turn-key mechanical contractor setting up the $11.5 million plant. Leading the facility is Thomas Cloarec, Plant Manager, with support from Prakash Sarvaiya, CEO, and Sandeep Patil, Operations Manager.
The facility ended construction in only six months, and then began working with JDI in March of 2025 to plan the installations.
Aerofoam will be manufacturing effective thermal insulation systems for B2B, small business owners, and commercial operators. The Abbeville facility will specifically produce the Aerofoam® Elastomeric Thermal Insulation tubes and panels for their consumers.
Aerofoam Ribbon Cutting and the partnership with Abbeville
For Abbeville and South Carolina, Aerofoam brings an increased partnership in revenue and growth. Aerofoam USA, a brand of the family-owned, international firm Hira Industries, announced plans in 2022 to establish its United States headquarters and operations in Abbeville County. The company’s $11.5 million investment will create 50 new jobs.
“Companies like Aerofoam USA are attracted to our state for our assets – a winning workforce, business-friendly environment, strategic East Coast location and much more,” says Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III.
“Aerofoam USA chose Abbeville County to establish its first U.S. manufacturing location, and I look forward to the company’s positive impact within the local community and beyond.”
The Aerofoam ribbon cutting event is not just fun, but understanding the values the Hira family shares with South Carolinians. They too believe that caring for those you call family is a big deal.
Sandeep Patil, Operations Manager for the company, states firmly that, “we believe in being loyal to our customers and to our employees and family. Our people who work for the company are treated very well because this is a true family that sticks together.”
People from Abbeville and the surrounding area have come from all backgrounds to celebrate this occasion. Locals such as Lander University, Abbeville County Economic Development Partnership, JDI Industrial Services, and more join together to welcome the new Aerofoam facility.

The history of Hira
Witnessing the fast pace of development in the 1980, Mr. Ramesh Hira, HVAC Engineer from India, founded Hira Traders LLC in the UAE, with a strategic objective of distributing HVAC utility products in the Middle East.
According to Mr. Ramesh Hiranandani, the philosophy of business should be primarily people oriented. People within the organization are the true ambassadors for the brand they represent. Truly to Mr. Hira, human engagement is one of the key areas for Hira and Aerofoam USA’s success.
Sadly, exactly one year ago from the date of this grand opening, Mr. Ramesh Hira passed away and the world lost a great family leader.
Today, the Hira Group continues on as a pioneer and leader across MENA such as HVAC, MEP, Civil Construction, Infrastructure, Aluminum, Glass, Marine, Commercial, Residential and Industrial projects.
In the past four decades, Hira Group has successfully emerged and expanded its activities in trading and customer base in GCC, India, Southeast Asia, Americas, Australia, New Zealand and Africa.
Overall, the company exemplifies the success of a true enterprise starting from the visionary acumen to breaking newer grounds and excelling at every given instance, from the project conception to execution, and proven time and again.
